Springfield values its place in the community
Springfield CEO Terry Umlor is president of the board of directors for The Rock Youth Center in Kingsley, where the company has also sponsored events and organizations including the Adams Fly Festival, Kingsley Heritage Days, local Little League baseball and the Outdoor Adventure Club.
Springfield CFO Terri Jo Umlor serves on the board of directors for the Michigan Strategic Fund, a body of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) that has broad authority to promote economic development in Michigan and help create jobs.
Our outreach and sponsorships in the greater Traverse City-area community include Crawford County Summer Youth events, the Traverse City chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Freedom Builders (providing free construction services to needy/displaced northern Michigan individuals), and The Michigan 4-H Outdoor Adventure Challenge. We’ve also supported the Traverse City Young Professionals group through the TC Chamber, the Traverse City Economics Club and the Traverse City Area Human Resource Professionals.
Springfield is a member in good standing of the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce, Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, the Elk Rapids Rotary and the Traverse City Rotary.
Dedication to northern Michigan communities is also found in our employees, as individuals.
When not helping northern Michigan businesses improve their commercial structures and operations, Springfield employees also make a difference in their own communities, serving as:
Pop Warner football coaches, Little League basketball coaches, PTO presidents, 4-H leaders, Sunday School teachers, canoeing guides for Grand Traverse Area Foster Care Youth, Youth Outdoor Adventure Club leaders, and as volunteers for Safe Harbor, Freedom Builders, Habitat for Humanity and Cadillac Lakeside Days.
